Part-time Research Assistant

[Appointment period: twelve months]

Duties 

The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Dyadic management intervention in older people with co-occurring cognitive impairment and diabetes as a supplementary approach to chronic diseases self-management program: A hybrid effectiveness-implementation study”.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    assist in the general management of the project;

(b)    assist in data management and data analysis;

(c)    assist in preparing research materials;

(d)    offer consultation about Diabetes Mellitus and cognitive impairment;

(e)    perform Point-of-care testing (POCT) for data collection; and

(f)     perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

The appointee may be required to work on irregular hours including evenings and Saturdays.

On-the-job training about POCT and research in nursing will be provided.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have an honours degree or above in Nursing or an equivalent qualification;

(b)    have a Certificate of Registration (Part I) and a Practising Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong;

(c)    have experience in managing quantitative or qualitative data independently;

(d)    have proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Chinese and English word processing;

(e)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese;

(f)    have good interpersonal and communication skills; and

(g)    be responsible and able to work independently.

Preference will be given to those with clinical working experience.

Conditions of Service

The remuneration rate is HK$125 per hour.
