[Appointment period: eleven months]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Longitudinal tracking of lifestyle and cognitive changes based on actigraphy and electroencephalography”.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    schedule and conduct behavioural/EEG/fMRI experiments involving younger, middle-aged, and older participants; 

(b)    conduct literature review under the supervision of the project leader;

(c)    assist in the preparation of manuscripts;

(d)    perform transcription of speech data; 

(e)    carry out statistical analyses on the multimodal dataset collected; and

(f)     perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

The appointee may be required to work on weekends or outside normal work hours.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics or a related discipline with good academic standing;

(b)    have a keen interest in Linguistics, Psychology, or Cognitive Neuroscience; 

(c)    have substantial experience in programming with Python/R/MATLAB;

(d)    have a good command of English;

(e)    be a native speaker of Hong Kong Cantonese; and

(f)     have the ability to work independently.

Previous experience in running experiments with young and older adult participants, using research software (including E-Prime, PsychoPy), and drafting academic papers are most preferred.
