Project Associate

[Appointment period: six months]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the project - “CanNTalk: an AI-powered immersive scenario-based 1-to-N Cantonese oral training platform”.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    assist in designing research tools such as questionnaires and experimental materials;

(b)    conduct data collection/extraction, data processing and data analysis;

(c)    assist in technology-enhanced Cantonese learning with special reference to the use of GenAI;

(d)    liaise with project collaborators and related parties to facilitate technical communication and project requirements;

(e)    assist in the production of project reports and relevant scholarly outputs;

(f)    assist in general management and coordination of the project; and

(g)    perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    possess a Master’s degree in Language Education, Chinese Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, or a related discipline or a good honours degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines with three or more years of relevant work experience;

(b)    be a native speaker of Cantonese;

(c)    have a high level of proficiency in both written Chinese and English;

(d)    possess knowledge of e-learning and AI platforms, good computer skills, including SPSS and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint);

(e)    have a high level of self-motivation and strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills; and

(f)    be a good team player and able to work independently.
