Officer / Assistant Officer (Gallery)

Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) provide support to the Manager in day-to-day operation of the University Gallery, including recruitment of student docents, scheduling of docent training and responding to guided tour requests from other units;
(b) collaborate with other units to maintain artefacts and conduct regular content updates for the University Gallery using the Content Management System (CMS);
(c) assist the Manager in liaising with external vendors on matters related to the University Gallery, including but not limited to sourcing materials, interior design, decoration and content for exhibition displays;
(d) support the administrative duties of the Branding and Marketing team (not limited to the University Gallery), such as management of purchasing matters and procurement procedures for the appointment of vendors for UX, design, printing and exhibition displays;
(e) carry out general administrative duties for the University Gallery; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree in Language Studies, Translation, Communications, Museum Studies or related disciplines with at least three years of work experience, and preferably with docent experience;
(b) be meticulous and attentive to details;
(c) have the ability to work accurately as well as under pressure to meet tight timelines;
(d) possess computer literacy, preferably with knowledge of Photoshop or other multimedia software; and
(e) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua.
Preference will be given to those with experience in CMS or other related systems. Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Assistant Officer.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
