Project Associate / Project Assistant

[Appointment period: twelve months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the project – “Li Ka Shing Design and Innovation Centre”.  He/She will be required to provide support in the following aspects:

(a)    planning and overseeing:

-   contribute to the strategic planning of entrepreneurship programmes, innovation initiatives, and partnership activities, e.g. training, workshops, networking and sharing session, student and collaboration initiatives;

-    assist in designing programme frameworks, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure effective delivery;

-    explore and generate income from various partnership or programme;

-    prepare proposals, planning documents and report;

(b)    administration and unit operations:

-    provide day-to-day administrative support, including documentation, meeting arrangements, procurement procedures, financial processing, etc.;

-    support the preparation of reports, meeting notes, proposals and presentation decks for internal and external stakeholders;

-    maintain proper filing systems, databases and workflow tracking;

(c)    communication and stakeholder engagement:

-    assist in preparing and directing communication and design materials for programme promotion (emails, social media posts, website updates);

-   coordinate with students, alumni, partners and academic staff to facilitate collaborations and answer enquiries;

-   assist in drafting announcements, newsletters or summaries related to entrepreneurship programmes and innovation activities; and

(d)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of School, the project leader or his delegates.

The appointee may be required to travel occasionally.

Qualifications

Applicants for the Project Associate post should have a master’s degree in Design, Business or related disciplines or a good honours degree in the said disciplines with three or more years of relevant work experience.

Applicants for the Project Assistant post should have an honours degree in the above-mentioned disciplines or an equivalent qualification with relevant work experience.

Applicants should also have:

(a)    good computer literacy, including MS Office, design software and/or AI tools;

(b)    a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua;

(c)    good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills; and

(d)    the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks concurrently.

Preference will be given to those with ability in design and familiarity with design software.

Applicants with less experience will be considered for the post of Project Assistant.
