Project Officer (Temporary Appointment)

[Appointment period: twelve months]

Duties 

The appointee will be required to: 

(a)    provide technical assistance and support, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, diagnosing and resolving network problems, assisting in system installations and configurations, and ensuring smooth operation of computer systems;

(b)    assist in the implementation of system upgrading and migrations;

(c)    provide technical and administrative support in data collection, data analysis, filing and system upgrading;

(d)    liaise and coordinate with relevant parties for the delivery of various projects including system enhancement, business process improvement, office renovation, etc; 

(e)    provide technical and logistical support for events, seminars and courses; 

(f)     handle procurement, inventory management, as well as health and safety measures;

(g)    prepare reports and project documentation including proposals and budget; and

(h)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship or his/her delegates.

Working on irregular hours including weekday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays may be required. 

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have a recognised degree in Information and Communications Technology or Computer Science with at least three years’ relevant post-qualification working experience; or a recognized certificate or diploma or an equivalent qualification in the said disciplines with at least five years’ relevant post qualification working experience;

(b)    have sound knowledge of computer software applications and database management, preferably with experience providing technical support in MS Office applications and financial management system;

(c)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;

(d)    have good planning, organisational and problem-solving skills; and

(e)    be attentive to details and be a good team player.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
