Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) coordinate and deliver a range of academic events, such as international conferences, distinguished lectures, ceremonies, research showcase exhibitions, seminars, delegation visits, and other activities;
(b) manage the event team, supervise junior staff, and oversee their contributions to event planning and administrative functions;
(c) prepare reports, proposals, speeches, web content, and other written materials related to event management;
(d) provide secretarial and logistical support to committees and meetings as required;
(e) handle financial matters associated with event planning and execution;
(f) facilitate effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director or his/her delegates.
The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and travel outside Hong Kong.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised honours degree plus at least five years of relevant post-qualification supervisory experience, preferably gained from tertiary institutions or sizable organisations;
(b) demonstrate strong problem-solving and leadership skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently;
(c) have excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
(d) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua;
(e) have sound administrative, negotiation and presentation skills;
(f) have a positive working attitude and the ability to work effectively as a team member; and
(g) be proactive and result-oriented, with the ability to formulate and implement plans independently and work under pressure.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
