(2)    Research Assistant (two posts)
         [Appointment period: each for twelve months]

Duties 

The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project - “Development of next-generation theranostic agents”.  They will be required to assist the Principal Investigator in preparing and submitting project grant application.

Qualifications

Applicants for the Postdoctoral Fellow post should have a doctoral degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biology or a related discipline or an equivalent qualification and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application.

Applicants for the Research Assistant post should have an honours degree or an equivalent qualification.

For both posts, applicants should also have:

(a)    solid foundation in novel material, mass spectrometry (MS) skills, cell culture, animal experiments and related methodologies;

(b)    project experience with diabetic wound healing, including designing and evaluating biomaterials to accelerate tissue repair and reduce fibrosis, and outlining strategies for eventual clinical translation; and

(c)    project experience with brain disease models, focusing on mechanisms of neurodegeneration and the development of potential therapeutic strategies.

Preference will be given to those with (i) practical experience in exosome-based applied research; (ii) publication record in high-level academic journals; and/or (iii) competition experience.
