Assistant Manager

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    support the transformation of raw and unstructured data into actionable insights for business intelligence, evaluation, benchmarking and predictive analysis;

(b)    liaise with internal and external stakeholders to collect, consolidate and analyse user requirements and usage behaviors, and transform the collected information into meaningful insights to support discovery and informed decision‑making;

(c)    assist in the development and enhancement of the Office’s systems, and support projects related to data management;

(d)    collaborate with other stakeholders to gather research information and requirements;

(e)    support the design and development of a structured record‑tracking and filing mechanism that enables efficient indexing of institutional knowledge, strengthens core information retention and promotes effective data reuse across different scenarios and business needs;

(f)     provide administrative and secretarial support for meetings and committees; and

(g)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Research and Innovation or his/her delegates.

Qualification

Applicants should:

(a)    have a recognised degree with at least five years of post-qualification work experience, preferably gained in tertiary institutions, with experience in research project management and data analysis being an advantage;

(b)    be able to develop quick solutions using Microsoft Forms, Microsoft Power Platform and other available tools/platforms in the University;

(c)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being a definite asset;

(d)    have good computer literacy, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Zoom;

(e)    be a team player with good interpersonal and communication skills;

(f)     have strong self-motivation and the ability to work independently;

(g)    have good analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills; and

(h)    have a high level of accuracy and professionalism in their work.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test. 

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
