Senior Engineer

Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) lead the design, development and implementation of a new data processing platform to provide a data processing service for general Large Language Model (LLM) training in the University;
(b) support the Model as a Service (MaaS) development and deployment for expanding the different kinds of LLM products/services for the University or the international LLM market;
(c) design and develop related products/services/solutions for domain-specific LLMs and provide consultation and suggestions covering model selection, architecture design, Prompt Engineering, RAG, agent, etc., to address the identified needs/demands;
(d) be responsible for generating the prototype/demonstration systems for promoting the implementation of LLM-related solutions; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics or a related discipline;
(b) at least five years of solid experience in AI, cloud or IT services, inclusive of some experience in product design and development, AI algorithms and engineering, solution architecture or pre-sales support;
(c) proficiency in mainstream large models, including Alibaba's Qwen, Wan, or Gemini, OpenAI, Claude, etc., and knowledge of the core technical principles of LLMs;
(d) proficiency in mainstream AI development frameworks and tools (such as Alibaba Cloud Bailian, Claude Code, LangChain, n8n, Dify, MCP, Skills, etc.) for AI application development and deployment; and
(e) knowledge of the basic concepts and typical methods of large model fine-tuning (such as full-parameter fine-tuning, LoRA, QLoRA, etc.) and the core ideas of PEFT, with the ability to collaborate with AI algorithm teams, evaluate the feasibility of customer fine-tuning and assist in fine-tuning tests.
Preference will be given to those with experience in conducting simple fine-tuning experiments through Alibaba Cloud PAI, Hugging Face or similar platforms.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
Consideration of applications will commence on 1 July 2026 until the position is filled.
