Technical Officer (Software Engineering) (Temporary Appointment)

Duties

The appointee will assist in the research project titled “Peter Hung Endowed Professorship in Pain Management”.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    assist in the design, development and maintenance of software systems for health-related applications (e.g. data platforms, mobile/web applications);

(b)    coordinate the integration of software systems, manage data workflows and support system deployment;

(c)    oversee back-end development, database architecture and system performance optimisation;

(d)    liaise with interdisciplinary teams (e.g. physiotherapists, researchers and external partners) regarding system requirements and implementation; and

(e)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should:

(a)    have a recognised degree in Computer Science or related disciplines plus five or more years of relevant experience;

(b)    have good interpersonal and communication skills; and

(c)    be self-motivated as well as able to work independently and under pressure.

Preference will be given to those with experience in platform development or cloud-based services.

Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.
