Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) plan individual audit assignments by identifying the risk areas and defining the audit scope, objectives and approach;
(b) design audit programmes for evaluation of the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the University’s internal control system;
(c) conduct reviews of operational and financial systems for the achievement of audit objectives;
(d) draft audit reports and make cost-effective and practical recommendations for improvement;
(e) perform follow-up audit to ensure the proper implementation of audit recommendations;
(f) supervise subordinates; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Unit or his/her delegates.
The appointee may be required to travel occasionally to the Chinese Mainland.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree in Accounting or related disciplines;
(b) have a professional qualification in Accounting or Auditing, namely Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), Association of Charted Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or an equivalent designation;
(c) have at least eight years of solid internal audit experience within a sizable organisation;
(d) have extensive knowledge of finance, business administration and management information systems;
(e) have substantial experience in operations of the Chinese Mainland;
(f) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Cantonese and Putonghua; and
(g) be able to work independently with strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
Preference will be given to those with knowledge of and experience in university operations and auditing of computer systems.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
