Assistant Officer

Duties 

The appointee will be required to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Director of Research Institute for Generative AI (RIGAI), one of the constituent research units under the PolyU Academy for Artificial Intelligence (PAAI).  He/She will be required to:

(a)    provide administrative support to the daily operations of RIGAI;

(b)    plan, coordinate and execute events and activities, including visits, seminars, workshops and conferences;

(c)    manage content creation and updates for RIGAI’s official website and social media platforms to enhance public visibility and impact;

(d)    handle information flow and maintain effective record and filing systems; 

(e)    provide secretarial support to committees and meetings;

(f)    prepare reports, meeting minutes, documentation, promotion and presentation materials; 

(g)    liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders; and

(h)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of RIGAI or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should: 

(a)    have a recognised degree with at least three years of relevant post-qualification experience;

(b)    have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including fluency in Putonghua;

(c)    be proficient in computer applications, including MS Office, preferably with familiarity in website content management systems;

(d)    possess strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, multitasking and organisational skills; and

(e)    be a self-motivated team player, attentive to detail and able to work independently.

Preference will be given to those with relevant work experience in the higher education sector, research institutes or technology-related fields.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
