Half-time Physiotherapist I

[Appointment period: three to twelve months]
Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the project - “Sports rehabilitation services to National Sports Association for the preparation for the Olympic 2028”. He/She will be required to:
(a) deliver high-quality sports injury and musculoskeletal assessments and evidence-based management for national and university athletes;
(b) assist in designing and executing individualised rehabilitation programmes to help return athletes to peak performance;
(c) ensure continual assessment and monitoring to guide rehabilitation progressions and readiness to return to play;
(d) provide on-field pitch-side injury management and emergency response for sports teams during training and competitions;
(e) implement injury prevention and athlete education strategies to enhance player availability and performance;
(f) maintain precise and up-to-date medical and performance data records;
(g) provide effective and timely communication of player status, rehabilitation milestones and risk assessments clearly; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
The appointee will be required to work beyond or outside normal office hours, including weekends and travel outside Hong Kong.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a bachelor’s degree or above in Physiotherapy, Sport Physiotherapy or related disciplines or an equivalent qualification;
(b) be registered with the Hong Kong Physiotherapists Board and have a valid practising certificate;
(c) have at least five years of post-qualification working experience specifically in musculoskeletal or sports physiotherapy;
(d) have experience in supporting athletes during competitions or training camps, preferably across different sporting contexts;
(e) have experience as a first responder in acute medical and trauma management situations in sport;
(f) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, and be able to speak Putonghua; and
(g) be able to build and maintain working relationships as well as working autonomously in high-pressure environments.
Preference will be given to those with qualifications/experience in strength and conditioning.
