Established in 1977, the School of Nursing supports the mission of the University by nurturing graduates who are critical thinkers, effective communicators, innovative problem solvers, lifelong learners and ethical leaders. It ranks 18th for the best School of Nursing internationally (QS Ranking 2026). The education, research, consultancy and integrative health services are driven by a commitment to improve health of the community. Currently, it has a total of around 80 full-time faculty members. We welcome candidates from all nursing disciplines, including critical care, mental health, as well as prevention and infection control.
Duties
The appointees will be required to:
(a) perform classroom teaching and clinical supervision duties in nursing and related areas;
(b) teach pre-registration nursing programmes and supervise students in clinical/field studies;
(c) supervise clinical projects and clinical practicum at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
(d) contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement of clinical studies;
(e) act as student advisor and counsellor;
(f) coordinate student clinical placement with local, national and overseas healthcare agencies; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of School or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a relevant master’s degree plus not less than four years of post-qualification/post-registration clinical experience in nursing or related areas;
(b) a Certificate of Registration (Part I and/or II) issued by The Nursing Board/Council of Hong Kong;
(c) a valid practicing certificate issued by The Nursing Council of Hong Kong;
(d) a solid track record as a nursing educator with demonstrated experience in both hands-on clinical supervision and classroom teaching;
(e) significant contribution to educational innovations and quality improvement initiatives across both clinical practicum and academic settings;
(f) demonstrated potential for making substantial contributions to curriculum and pedagogy development and programme management;
(g) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Cantonese; and
(h) effective pedagogical skills across various delivery formats, including classroom teaching and direct clinical supervision, coupled with good interpersonal and communication skills.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
