Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) oversee admissions of the Student Halls of Residence, and implement related policies;
(b) promote the Halls to the PolyU community, potential applicants and their parents;
(c) handle disciplinary cases of the Halls, including facilitating rehabilitative efforts, handling sanctions and doing spot-checks for compliance with critical rules;
(d) monitor the performance of the property management services contractor;
(e) administer student surveys and evaluating programmes / services, including data collection, statistical reporting and report writing;
(f) provide administrative support, supervision and coaching to supporting staff;
(g) serve as a secretary to committees, meetings and focus groups;
(h) provide support in administrative tasks and any ad hoc duties as assigned;
(i) assist the Section Head of Student Resources and Support in providing programmes and organising activities to facilitate students’ study, development and cultural exchange; and
(j) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree with at least five years of relevant post-qualification experience;
(b) strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently;
(c) strong interpersonal and communication skills;
(d) a good command of English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;
(e) high self-motivation; and
(f) good computer literacy.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
