Assistant Executive Officer (Temporary Appointment)

[Appointment period: twelve months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties

The appointee will assist in supporting the general administration of the Unit with a particular focus on teaching and research, and be required to:

(a)    provide administrative support for daily operations and event organisation related to taught and research postgraduate programmes;

(b)    assist in the coordination and logistic arrangements for practicum and placement of the Unit;

(c)    assist in organising programme- and research-related activities, including academic visits, alumni events, research seminars, symposia and conferences, to strengthen the network with industrial partners and alumni;

(d)    assist in the preparation and submission of proposals, reports and presentations; and

(e)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and/or during weekends occasionally.

Qualifications

Applicants should have: 

(a)    a recognised degree with at least three years of relevant post-qualification work experience, preferably in programme administration or research sector of tertiary institutions;

(b)    a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;

(c)    good computer literacy;

(d)    good communication, interpersonal, organisational and negotiation skills; and

(e)    a strong sense of responsibility and be a good team player.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
