Assistant Officer / Executive Assistant

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    provide administrative support to research degree programmes, including but not limited to admission exercise, class time-tabling and coursework-related matters;

(b)    support research-related applications, exercises, seminars and activities;

(c)    assist in the organisation of departmental activities/events;

(d)    assist in compiling financial reports and statistical reports;

(e)    handle enquiries from staff, students and relevant stakeholders;

(f)     liaise and coordinate with academic departments, central administrative units and external organisations; and

(g)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should:

(a)    have a recognised degree, preferably with some relevant working experience in research postgraduate programme management gained in tertiary institutions;

(b)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;

(c)    have good computer proficiency, especially in using Microsoft Office software and Chinese word processing;

(d)    have good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills;

(e)    have a positive working and learning attitude and be a good team player;

(f)     be attentive to details and able to work independently and proactively; and

(g)    be able to work under pressure and within a tight schedule.

Applicants with less experience and/or qualifications may be considered for the post of Executive Assistant.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
