The Department of Architecture (ARCH) is a new academic unit under the Faculty of Construction and Environment (FCE) to be established with effect from 1 July 2026.  The appointee will provide administrative support for the establishment of ARCH and its academic programmes. The headcount is temporary affiliated with the office of FCE and the appointee will be transferred to ARCH upon its establishment.

Duties 

The appointee will play a pivotal role in the launch of ARCH and will be required to: 

(a)    take a leading role in promotion and execution of key events, outreach activities, and ad-hoc projects to strengthen the Department’s profile;

(b)    develop and implement a brand-building strategy, centralising all online and offline marketing channels to rapidly establish the Department's identity;

(c)    drive student recruitment by creating and managing targeted promotional campaigns to attract and retain high-caliber local and non-local applicants for the programmes;

(d)    nurture and establish partnerships with industry leaders, academic institutions, and other key stakeholders to enhance the Department's network and opportunities; and

(e)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Faculty and/or the Head of Unit or their delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should have: 

(a)    a recognised degree or an equivalent qualification, with at least five years of post-qualification work experience in a relevant field;

(b)    a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;

(c)    excellent communication skills, proficiency in social media platforms, and hands-on computer literacy, including proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel;

(d)    strong problem-solving and analytical skills;

(e)    a positive working attitude and the ability to work well as a team player; and

(f)     strong self-motivation, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and work independently.

Preference will be given to those with solid relevant experience in tertiary education sector.  

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
