Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Understanding emotional experiences and identity construction of doctoral students in the era of publish or perish: the case of Hong Kong”. He/She will be required to:
(a) undertake various forms of data collection and analysis for the project;
(b) assist in writing and disseminating the project findings; and
(c) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegate(s).
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a PhD degree in Applied Linguistics, TESOL or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification, and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application. They should also have good communication skills in English. Preference will be given to those with:
(a) demonstrated experience in conducting survey studies and/or coordinating and conducting interviews;
(b) demonstrated expertise in qualitative data analysis such as thematic/narrative analysis;
(c) demonstrated competence in quantitative/statistical analysis, including instruments validation; and
(d) excellent academic writing and reporting skills.
Applicants with publication records will have an advantage.
