[Appointment period: fourteen months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the project – “Smart teens actions project – ASCEND tech for good scheme”.  The scheme is designed to nurture entrepreneurs for smart city that addresses pressing social challenges such as digital divide.  The appointee will be required to:

(a)    assist in the overall execution of the project;

(b)    monitor the implementation plan of the youth-led teams (“the teams”) and keep track of their daily operations to ensure the smooth implementation of pledged achievement;

(c)    coordinate with the teams in the preparation of periodic operation and financial reports for submission to the Trust, including those required for the disbursement of payments and reimbursement of claims;

(d)    provide support and coordinate the provision of tailored training support to the teams;

(e)    prepare and coordinate marketing and communication materials for online and offline promotion and engagement of stakeholders;

(f)     assist in the organisation of study and exchange tours outside Hong Kong; and

(g)    perform other duties as assigned by the Interim Director of Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation or his/her delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should:

(a)    have a master’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Social Design, Marketing or Event Management or a good honours degree in one of the said disciplines with three or more years of incubation work experience;

(b)    have experience in financial and operational management of social projects and/or startups;

(c)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua;

(d)    have good interpersonal and communication skills to deal with non-profit organisations, frontline service users, youth, volunteers and IT specialists etc.;

(e)    be able to work with minimum supervision and meet deadlines; and

(f)     have multi-tasking skills.

Preference will be given to those with knowledge of, and industry insights into, the incubation in the domains of technology, social services, sustainability, digital innovation, or mobile application development.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.
