Duties
The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project – “Transformative couture: STEM based approaches for fashion”. They will be required to:
(a) conduct comprehensive literature reviews, collect and analyse project data;
(b) conduct workshops on campus and at external venues;
(c) support the project leader to design, develop and implement content for workshops and activities to meet project objectives and deliverables;
(d) prepare research reports, documentation, publications, exhibitions and presentations for internal and external dissemination;
(e) coordinate and monitor project activities among project collaborators and stakeholders; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader, Dean of School or their delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Research Fellow post should have a PhD degree in Wearable Technology, Smart Textiles, Design, Knit Technology, Engineering or a related discipline plus at least three years of postdoctoral research experience or equivalent qualifications and experience. Applicants for the Postdoctoral Fellow post should a PhD degree in one of the afore mentioned disciplines and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application. For both posts, applicants should also have:
(a) relevant working experience in research teams;
(b) a good research output track record; and
(c) good communication skills and the ability to lead project activities.
Applicants for the Research Associate post should have a master’s degree or a good honours degree in one of the afore mentioned disciplines with three or more years of research/relevant work experience. Applicants for the Research Assistant post should have an honours degree in one of the afore mentioned disciplines or an equivalent qualification. For both posts, applicants should also have:
(a) good communication as well as research data collection and analysis skills for project dissemination; and
(b) good knowledge in updating websites and digital presentations.
For all posts, applicants should also have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua. Preference will be given to those with experiences in teaching and conducting creative workshop.
