Assistant Accountant (Staff Compensation and Benefits Section)

Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) handle daily operations in relation to staff benefits, including updating payroll and benefits records, processing staff claims and related payments, participating in annual exercises, following up with different parties on payment matters, and managing tax filing matters for staff members;
(b) prepare staff cost reports and projections as required by management and funding bodies;
(c) assist in the enhancement and implementation of payroll-related payment systems;
(d) handle general administrative duties related to payroll operations; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or his delegate.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree in Accounting or related disciplines; or
a recognised diploma/certificate plus at least one year of work experience in accounting, auditing and other related fields, with experience in payroll operations and/or staff benefits being an advantage; or
a combination of results in five HKDSE subjects of Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects / “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E in Other Language subjects, and the five subjects must include English Language, Chinese Language, Mathematics, and preferably Business, Accounting & Financial Studies / Practical Accounting for SMEs, plus at least 5 years of relevant work experience; or
five passes in HKCEE including English Language (at least Grade C if Syllabus A; Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Chinese Language (Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Mathematics, and preferably Principles of Accounts, plus at least 5 years of relevant work experience;
(b) proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
(c) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
(d) good problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills; and
(e) be well-organised, efficient and attentive to details.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
