Facilities Officer (Building Maintenance) (Temporary Appointment)

Duties
The appointee will report to the Technical Services Section in the area of building maintenance and be required to:
(a) plan, organise and supervise contractors to carry out planned building maintenance works, minor works, as well as building improvement works;
(b) prepare detailed technical specifications and working drawings for tenders;
(c) make recommendations on returned tenders;
(d) prioritise and issue work orders;
(e) liaise with different units and contractors for the implementation of planned works;
(f) supervise and monitor the progress and quality of work performed by contractors/service providers;
(g) perform shift duties including working on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays when required; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree, diploma or higher certificate in Building Surveying, Building Studies, Building Technology or a related engineering discipline;
(b) have at least three years of relevant work experience in building maintenance/improvement works;
(c) have good communication and interpersonal skills;
(d) be familiar with Microsoft Office suite and AutoCAD; and
(e) have knowledge of the statutory requirements of the Building (Minor Works) Regulation and the health and safety on construction sites.
Preference will be given to those with experience in building maintenance and/or tiling repairs and leakage repairs to building fabrics.
