Assistant Officer

Duties 

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    support the administration of the Department’s academic postgraduate programmes and related centralised exercises such as admission, subject registration and examination;

(b)    prepare programme prospectus and journal lists;

(c)    arrange student-related events and services;

(d)    maintain effective record systems and databases;

(e)    assist in departmental meetings, events and general office administration; and

(f)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should have: 

(a)    a recognised degree and relevant working experience;

(b)    a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, preferably with fluency in Putonghua;

(c)    good communication and interpersonal skills;

(d)    self-motivation and the ability to work independently and proactively;

(e)    the ability to arrange functions; and

(f)     proficiency in computer software applications, including MS office and Chinese word processing.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test. 

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
