Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Design of ultrastrong, ductile, and thermally stable nanocrystalline dual-phase alloys via coherent nano-honeycomb architectures”.  The appointee will carry out research in the area of advanced materials.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    undertake specific research project(s) under the guidance of a research leader and contribute to the development of research activities;

(b)    conduct research in line with the norms of the discipline concerned and/or facilitate the research teams to deliver scholarly output;

(c)    assist in the supervision of research students in the related research area as required;

(d)    develop new understandings in the field of ferroelectric materials; and

(e)    support the dissemination of research outcomes through appropriate channels and outlets.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)    a doctoral degree in Materials Science and Engineering or a related discipline and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application;

(b)    demonstrated track record of publications in the field of materials and electron microscopy;

(c)    experience in advanced microscopy techniques; 

(d)    ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with minimal supervision; 

(e)    ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships; and

(f)     ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
