Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) supervise, maintain and uphold the smooth running of various equipment in the areas of Cellular and Molecular Biology, Genomics, Structural Biology, Advanced Microscope and Mass Spectrometry;
(b) provide technical and research support across various disciplines related to the above areas;
(c) provide training to students and research personnel on sample preparation and equipment operation;
(d) carry out specialised services in life sciences research;
(e) perform various administrative duties, including but not limited to maintenance of websites and equipment booking system, health and safety management, procurement, and/or holding of any promotional activities; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a doctoral degree in Life Science or a related discipline;
(b) at least five years’ relevant experience, including at least three years of experience in the operation of Cellular and Molecular Biology, Genomics, Structural Biology, Advanced Microscopy or Mass Spectrometry-related equipment;
(c) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage; and
(d) strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
Preference will be given to those with solid hands-on experience in immuno-profiling, cryo-electron microscope and super-resolution microscope sample preparation, cryo-electron tomography, single cell analysis and/or NGS library preparation.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
