Research Assistant (Full-time/Part-time)

Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Painting a revolution: A history of mass art practice in the People’s Republic of China, 1949-1979”. He/She will be required to:
(a) collect and organise related research materials/data and conduct research in the fields of modern Chinese cultural history, art history, and popular culture;
(b) assist with organising academic talks, workshops and conferences;
(c) assist in preparing teaching materials; and
(d) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have an honours degree in the Humanities, preferably related to the study of modern Chinese history, cultural history, or art history or an equivalent qualification;
(b) have knowledge of and experience with academic databases, library resources, and other local and international academic resources related to Chinese humanities;
(c) have experience in data entry, with a strong ability to search, collect and organise research materials and data;
(d) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua;
(e) have good interpersonal and organisational skills;
(f) have strong computational skills in Microsoft Office software suite, including Word, Excel, and spreadsheet;
(g) have a general knowledge of the Internet and electronic communication;
(h) have a willingness to learn new skills; and
(i) be able to work independently.

Conditions of Service
For full-time appointment, a highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.
For part-time appointment, the remuneration rate is HK$125 per hour.
