Assistant Student Development Manager / Student Development Officer (Temporary Appointment)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    support the Student Development Section to facilitate the holistic education of students, through whole-person development and leadership enhancement programmes and activities;

(b)    assist in developing initiatives for the leadership and holistic development of the university’s student representatives and office-bearers of student organisations;

(c)    work closely with internal and external units to coordinate and facilitate student development programmes and initiatives;

(d)    provide support to documentations, meetings and working groups in relation to student development matters as required; 

(e)    supervise junior staff; and

(f)     perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students or his/her delegates.

The appointee is required to work irregular hours where necessary and conduct off-shore trips for student development related programmes. 

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have a recognised degree;

(b)    have at least five years of solid experience, preferably in leadership development for university students, social innovation, social media management and other related aspects;

(c)    be proactive and have the ability to build rapport with university students; 

(d)    be creative, highly motivated, detail-oriented and willing to work under tight schedules; 

(e)    be a good team player with strong organisational and interpersonal skills; 

(f)     have good computer literacy; and

(g)    have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.

Applicants with less relevant experience will be considered for the post of Student Development Officer.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
