Duties

The appointees will assist the project leader in the research projects – “High tech as a double-edged sword: A longitudinal study on technostress and well-being among Chinese university students” and/or “A longitudinal investigation of adolescent problematic smartphone use and family digital environment in China”.  They will be required to:

(a)    conduct research and evaluation studies;

(b)    collect and analyse data;

(c)    draft manuscripts and write reports;

(d)    assist in different research activities and handle administrative work; and

(e)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants for the Postdoctoral Fellow post should have a doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Management, Mental Health or other related disciplines and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application.

Applicants for the Research Assistant post should have an honours degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines or an equivalent qualification.

Applicants should also:

(a)    demonstrate knowledge of well-being and mental health, preferably in educational, organisational or applied settings;

(b)    demonstrate research interests and research experience in areas such as youth development, well-being and digital tools, preferably with a record of publications;

(c)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Cantonese and Putonghua;

(d)    be able to communicate effectively with both technical stakeholders in AI and data, as well as non-technical stakeholders in areas of education, psychology and/or management;

(e)    have strong analytical, organisational and interdisciplinary collaboration skills; and

(f)     be proficient in using statistical software such as SPSS, Mplus, or R.
