Duties
The appointees will be required to:
(a) conduct high-impact research in the areas of Smart Manufacturing and Robotic Systems;
(b) pursue actively external research grants, such as General Research Fund, as Principal Investigator;
(c) provide quality teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level;
(d) contribute to departmental service; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a PhD degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, Robot and Automation, Mechatronics, Industrial AI or a related discipline;
(b) preferably have at least two years of postdoctoral research experience;
(c) have demonstrated promise of a high level of creativity and excellence in research, with strong competence in one or more of the following areas: robotics AI, sim-to-real transfer, physics-based simulation, robotic mechanisms, end-effectors and manipulation, robot body design, mechanics, smart manufacturing, and industrial software;
(d) be able to demonstrate effective classroom teaching skills; and
(e) be a good team player and have excellent communication skills and the ability to use English as the medium of instruction.

Conditions of Service
A highly competitive package including a medical benefits plan and a gratuity payable upon completion of the term which is normally for two to three years initially, with possibility of extension.
