[Appointment period: each for three to twelve months]

Duties 

The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project - “A musical training program to promote neuroplasticity in children with Special Education Needs (SEN) from low-income families”.  This study aims to promote neuroplasticity and enhance social competence in preschool children with SEN.  The appointees will be required to:

(a)    coordinate and participate in the activities of the project, e.g. literature review, recruitment of participants, data collection, data analysis (quantitative and qualitative) and progress report writing;

(b)    provide administrative support to the project team; and

(c)    perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

The appointees will be required to work off-campus or outside office hours.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have an honours degree in Nursing, Social Sciences, Psychology or other related disciplines or an equivalent qualification;

(b)    demonstrate research interest in working with children and adolescents and children with SEN;    

(c)    have good computer literacy including Excel and Endnote, preferably with knowledge in statistical software, such as SPSS/Amos/NVivo;

(d)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;

(e)    have excellent organisational and communication skills;

(f)     be able to work independently; 

(g)    have a strong sense of responsibility; and 

(h)    be a good team player.

Preference will be given to those with a background in music.

Conditions of Service

For full-time appointments, a highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.

For part-time appointments, the remuneration rate is HK$125 per hour.
