Project Assistant

[Appointment period: three months]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Topological urbanism, reframing urban development and its topological evolution”.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    assist in material preparation through text and image development for publication work;

(b)    collect, organise and manage content by gathering relevant materials from a variety of sources;

(c)    ensure accurate citation and documentation of all sources used;

(d)    manage and arrange output products by overseeing the formatting, layout, and design of book chapters, articles and other project materials;

(e)    coordinate the production and distribution of both digital and print versions of project outputs;

(f)     maintain version control and ensure the timely delivery of all materials;

(g)    assist in book planning and manage deliverables by developing and updating the book’s outline, timeline and chapter assignments;

(h)    track progress on deliverables to ensure deadlines are met and quality standards are upheld; and

(i)     perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his delegates including administrative support, event coordination or outreach activities as required.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have an honours degree preferably in Design or an equivalent qualification;

(b)    have an excellent command of both written and spoken English;

(c)    have computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe CS;

(d)    have knowledge of basic web content management;

(e)    have good interpersonal and organisational skills; and

(f)    be a good team player and able to work independently.

Preference will be given to those with familiarity with design software.
