Senior Hall Manager

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    assist in the formulation, review and execution of policies and regulations for the University-managed Accommodations (UMA), including Student Hall of Residents and Off-campus Housing;

(b)    ensure a safe and healthy living environment for students in UMA and maintain quality assurance across all UMA operations;

(c)    supervise and coach the Hall Administration team within the Student Resources and Support Section; 

(d)    collaborate with the Finance Office to prepare annual hall budgets and review hall fees;

(e)    assess the renovation needs of UMA and plan for major maintenance work;

(f)     prepare and manage the outsourcing of the property management services for the Student Halls of Residence;

(g)    provide secretarial support to hall committees and meetings;

(h)    assist the Head of the Student Resources and Support Section in promoting integrations and student engagement among the hall community; and

(i)     perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)    a recognised degree, with a higher degree preferred;

(b)    at least ten years of relevant experience in a tertiary institution or public administration, preferably within a student residence setting or student services;

(c)    proficiency in both written and spoken English and Putonghua;

(d)    strong computer literacy; and

(e)    excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
