Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Scaling up C-for-Chinese@JC in kindergarten sector to cultivate culturally responsive education”. He/She will be required to:
(a) design and develop evaluation tools for the various intervention programmes of the project;
(b) collect, analyse, and manage project data;
(c) compile reports and papers for internal and external consumption;
(d) disseminate research results and project outcomes to various stakeholders; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
The appointee will sometimes be required to work during the weekend or outside normal work hours as well as work outside campus.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a doctoral degree in Chinese Language and Literature/Chinese Linguistics/Teaching Chinese as a Second Language or relevant discipline, and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application.
(b) substantial experience in managing educational activities and conducting education research; and
(c) passionate about teaching, children-friendly, organised, patient, and detail-minded.
Preference will be given to applicants who have knowledge and experience in teaching Chinese as a second language/educational technology and media/curriculum and instruction/development of multimedia Chinese language learning materials.
