Part-time Research Associate

Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Understanding government social media communication in Hong Kong: A computer-assisted multimodal discourse analysis”. He/She will be required to:
(a) assist the project leader with research and management of the project; and
(b) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegate(s).
Qualifications
Applicants should have a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics, or a related discipline. Preference will be given to those with:
(a) a PhD (or nearing completion) in Linguistics, with a specialisation in Discourse Analysis, Multimodality, or Corpus Linguistics;
(b) demonstrated skills in programming and AI-assisted data processing; and
(c) proficiency in Chinese and preferably Cantonese.

Conditions of Service
The remuneration rate is HK$178 per hour.
