Student Development Officer

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    support the Student Development Section through the coordination of events and activities that facilitate whole-person development, leadership enhancement and multi-cultural diversity campus life;

(b)    assist in the management of student groups and associations;

(c)    provide support to enhance the student representative network;

(d)    assist in administering funding resources and facilities in support of student-led activities;

(e)    provide secretarial support for meetings as well as working groups, and support the operation and general administration of the Office; and

(f)     perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students or his/her delegates.

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours occasionally, and conduct off- shore trips for student development related programmes when necessary.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have a recognised degree with at least three years of post-qualification work experience; 

(b)    possess resilience, good interpersonal and communication skills; 

(c)    have a high level of self-motivation, and the ability to work independently;

(d)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua; and

(e)    have good computer literacy, with some knowledge of IT and audio equipment being an advantage.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
