Duties
The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project - “One health, molecular microbiology, bioinformatics”. They will be required to:
(a) assist in collaborative research projects on microbial genomics, molecular microbiology, genomics and molecular diagnostics;
(b) conduct independent research;
(c) prepare high-quality scientific manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals;
(d) present findings at conferences;
(e) assist in grant writing and contribute to the development of new research proposals;
(f) act as mentor and supervise graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory;
(g) participate in laboratory meetings, seminars and other relevant academic activities; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a doctoral degree in Molecular Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genomics, Bioinformatics or other related disciplines and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application;
(b) a proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals; and
(c) experience in dry laboratory or wet laboratory.
