Duties
The appointee will be required to provide administrative support to the Director of the State Key Laboratory of Climate Resilience for Coastal Cities (the Laboratory) and his delegates. The appointee will also be required to:
(a) oversee the administration of the Laboratory, including the appointments of research staff, procurement process and office management, etc;
(b) manage research projects and project schemes under the Laboratory;
(c) prepare reports in both English and Chinese, as well as PowerPoint presentations;
(d) provide secretarial service for various committees and meetings;
(e) coordinate special projects, events and ceremonies, and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders;
(f) supervise junior staff, monitor their performance, and provide guidance and support to subordinates; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Laboratory or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree and at least five years of relevant post-qualification work experience;
(b) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;
(c) a strategic mind-set with excellent analytical, problem-solving, organisational, communication, interpersonal, multi-tasking and prioritisation skills;
(d) high self-motivation, proactivity, flexibility and professionalism, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines; and
(e) good computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing.
Applicants with less experience will be considered for a post at a lower rank.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
