Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Associate

Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Engineering vaccinia virus for enhanced immunotherapy of malignant mesothelioma”. He/She will be required to:
(a) participate in multidisciplinary research projects, independent and/or collaborative research programs focusing on innovative tumor immunotherapeutics, with particular emphasis on characterising anti-tumor T cells elicited by various approaches, including cancer vaccines, oncolytic virotherapy and immune checkpoint blockade;
(b) apply for external research funding;
(c) supervise postgraduate students and research staff;
(d) provide service at the departmental, faculty, and/or university levels; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader, the Head of Unit or their delegates.
Qualifications
For the post of Postdoctoral Fellow, applicants should have:
(a) a doctoral degree (research-based) in Immunology, Oncology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or a related discipline or an equivalent qualification and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application; and
(b) strong publication records.
Applicants for the Research Associate post should have a MPhil/MSc degree or an equivalent qualification in one of the afore-mentioned fields or a good honours degree in one of the afore-mentioned fields with at least three years of relevant research/work experience.
For both posts, applicants should also have:
(a) strong hands-on experience in cellular and molecular biology, cancer biology and immunology; and
(b) laboratory experience with animal studies (mouse models).
