Project Associate / Research Associate / Project Assistant / Research Assistant

[Appointment period: twelve months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “JC Project Bonfire”.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    provide support to the daily operations of the project;

(b)    assist in the planning and implementation of the project, including training and research;

(c)    support the development and implementation of project and research design;

(d)    assist in data management and data analysis;

(e)    prepare reports, training materials, publicity materials, correspondences;

(f)     liaise with internal departments, administrative units and external organisations to execute various events, activities and programmes; 

(g)    assist in logistics and administrative work; and

(h)    perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

The appointee may be required to occasionally work on irregular hours including weekday evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

Applicants for the Project Associate or Research Associate post should have a master’s degree, preferably in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or other related disciplines or a good honours degree in one of the said disciplines with three or more years of research/relevant work experience.

Applicants for the Project Assistant or Research Assistant post should have an honours degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines or an equivalent qualification.

Applicants should also: 

(a)    be interested in youth development and poverty alleviation in Hong Kong;

(b)    have experience in assisting large scale projects;

(c)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua;

(d)    have proficiency in computer skills, including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat; 

(e)    have good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills;

(f)     have the passion in building and sustaining strong relationships with stakeholders;

(g)    be highly motivated, result-oriented and able to work under pressure;

(h)    be dynamic and mature; and

(i)     be a good team player and able to work independently.

Preference will be given to those with work experience in tertiary institutions or similar organisations, as well as with strong sense of creativity and aesthetics.
