Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) implement policies and regulations for the University-managed Accommodations (UMA), including Student Hall of Residents and Off-campus Housing;
(b) handle disciplinary matters and promote good citizenship in the UMA;
(c) monitor and supervise the outsourced contractor providing property management services in the UMA;
(d) promote UMA to PolyU students;
(e) promote summer letting services to PolyU departments and oversee the related operation;
(f) process appeals related to UMA applications;
(g) provide secretarial support to hall committees and meetings;
(h) supervise and coach supporting staff; and
(i) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students or his/her delegates.
The appointee may be required to reside in Student Halls of Residence and work irregular hours. In such case, the appointee will serve on a rotational duty-officer roster with other residential staff to address emergent incidents outside office hours.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree, with a higher degree preferred;
(b) at least five years of solid administrative and supervisory experience, preferably with experience in a tertiary institution or within a student residence setting, including proven supervisory experience in overseeing a team of not less than three members;
(c) proficiency in both written and spoken English and Putonghua;
(d) strong computer literacy; and
(e) excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
