Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Associate / Research Assistant (Full-time/Part-time) (several posts)

Duties
The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project - “On gut microbiota’s role in regulating neuroinflammation in neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder-related optic neuritis”. They will be required to:
(a) perform administrative work and project operation;
(b) conduct experiments and handle laboratory animals;
(c) collect and analyse research data;
(d) prepare manuscripts and write reports; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Postdoctoral Fellow post should have a doctoral degree or an equivalent qualification and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application.
Applicants for the Research Associate post should have a master’s degree or a good honours degree with three or more years of research/relevant work experience.
Applicants for the Research Assistant post should have an honours degree or an equivalent qualification.
Applicants should also:
(a) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
(b) be a good team player and able to work independently; and
(c) be self-motivated and organised.
Preference will be given to those who have the following areas of expertise/background:
(a) optometry or ophthalmology-related background;
(b) further experience/qualifications/certifications related to the area of neuroscience, immunology, biology, biochemistry or related disciplines; or
(c) hands-on experience in animal model, cell culture and bioinformatics.

Conditions of Service
For full-time appointments, a highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.
For part-time appointments, the remuneration rates are HK$385 per hour for the post of Postdoctoral Fellow, HK$178 per hour for the post of Research Associate and HK$125 per hour for the post of Research Assistant.
