Duties
The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project – “Enhancing mental wellness of the elderly by mind-friendly estate model”. They will be required to:
(a) assist the project leader and senior researchers in managing and curating the programmes with Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and residential communities of Hong Kong;
(b) develop and coordinate the assigned community-based participatory design research tasks including but not limited to site observations, user engagement, interviews, creative prototyping/user tests, workshops and exhibitions;
(c) develop, record and analyse the processes of engagement, visualisation, documentation and promotion of project materials and findings; and
(d) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Research Associate post should have:
(a) a master’s degree in Design, Fine Arts, Humanities or an equivalent qualification;
(b) experience in both research and administration in field-based studies particularly within the local community of older adults; and
(c) knowledge of the major industry-standard design software, Microsoft Office including Excel.
Applicants for the Research Assistant post should have:
(a) an honours degree in Social Design or related disciplines or an equivalent qualification;
(b) at least one year of working experience in community engagement and coordination; and
(c) knowledge of the major industry-standard design and research software as well as Microsoft Office including Excel.
For both posts, applicants should also have:
(a) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Cantonese, for editing and report writing;
(b) strong competencies in community engagement; and
(c) good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Preference will be given to those with prior experience in working with older adults living in public housing.

Conditions of Service
For full-time appointments, a highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.
For part-time appointments, the remuneration rates are HK$178 per hour for the post of Research Associate and HK$125 per hour for the post of Research Assistant.
