Duties
The appointee will take up the role as Senior Technical Officer to assist the project leader in the AI-powered progressive assessment project “Language and communication competency assessment (LCCA)”. He/She will be required to:
(a) design and implement the overall technical solution architecture for the AI-powered assessment platform;
(b) oversee system design, and select appropriate technologies and frameworks to ensure scalability, performance and reliability;
(c) ensure data security, privacy compliance and adherence to institutional and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, local data protection regulations);
(d) manage technical deployment processes, infrastructure setup and integration of AI services with assessment components;
(e) prepare comprehensive technical documentation, architecture diagrams and system specifications for stakeholder to review;
(f) provide technical guidance and support to the development team to ensure best practices and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a doctoral degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering plus at least three years of postdoctoral research experience in technical architecture and system design or equivalent qualifications and experience;
(b) demonstrated expertise in cloud infrastructure, API design, microservices architecture and software security practices;
(c) substantial experience in data security and compliance frameworks with best practices in handling sensitive educational data;
(d) proven track record in leading technical teams and delivering large-scale software projects; and
(e) excellent writing and communication skills for preparing technical documentation.
Preference will be given to those who are familiar with AI/ML integration, educational technology platforms or assessment systems.
