Duties
The appointees will assist the project leader in the research projects - “Multidimensional parental psychological control and developmental outcomes among Chinese adolescents in Hong Kong” and/or “Parent-adolescent discrepancy in perceived parenting: Developmental changes and longitudinal associations with developmental outcomes among Chinese early adolescents”. They will be required to:
(a) liaise with schools that participate in the above-mentioned projects;
(b) collect and analyse quantitative and qualitative data;
(c) conduct literature review;
(d) draft manuscripts and school reports;
(e) assist in administrative work; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Research Associate post should have a master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or other related disciplines or a good honours degree in one of the said disciplines with at least three years of research/relevant work experience.
Applicants for the Research Assistant post should have an honours degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines or an equivalent qualification. Preference will be given to those with a master’s degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines.
Applicants should also:
(a) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, preferably with fluency in Cantonese;
(b) have good knowledge of analysing longitudinal data using statistical software such as Mplus and R;
(c) have a strong sense of responsibility and good interpersonal skills; and
(d) be a good team player and able to work independently.

Conditions of Service
For full-time appointments, a highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.
For part-time appointments, the remuneration rates are HK$178 per hour for the post of Research Associate and HK$125 per hour for the post of Research Assistant.
Consideration of applications will commence on 5 January 2026 until the positions are filled.
