Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Airport capacity investment with airport - airline vertical arrangements - economic and policy analysis of risk allocation under information asymmetry”.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    conduct high-quality research in the field of aviation, with a focus on airport-airline interactions, including but not limited to aviation operations, airport capacity planning, management, safety, technology and policy;

(b)    lead or participate in aviation-related research projects, including project design, data collection, economic and policy analysis, modeling, report writing and publication in academic journals;

(c)    collaborate with industry partners, government agencies and academic institutions to support policy-oriented and applied research on airport capacity investment, vertical arrangements and risk allocation in the aviation sector; and

(d)    present research findings at academic conferences, industry forums and seminars. 

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)    a doctoral degree in Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, Transportation, Economics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application;

(b)    strong research background in aviation or aerospace fields, particularly in airport economics, airline competition or transportation policy, with a demonstrated track record of publications in reputable journals or conferences;

(c)    solid skills in quantitative analysis, economic modeling or simulation related to aviation systems; and

(d)    ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.

Preference will be given to those with experience in handling airport or airline data sets.
