Duties 

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    provide administrative support to various marketing and publicity campaigns for enhancing the visibility of the Unit and its research as well as promotion of academic programmes and events;

(b)    assist in the preparation of communication materials;

(c)    assist in organising and coordinating sizable events such as Info Day, departmental retreat, symposium, conferences, etc.; 

(d)    liaise with students, internal and external stakeholders on various marketing activities; 

(e)    updating the Unit’s website regularly; and

(f)     perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have a recognised degree in Science, Marketing or related disciplines;

(b)    have at least one year’s post-qualification work experience in marketing communications or public relations;

(c)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;

(d)    be proficient in MS Office and familiar with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Xiaohongshu, etc.;

(e)    have good analytical, interpersonal and communication skills; and

(f)     be creative, self-motivated, detail-oriented, responsible and organised.

Preference will be given to those with (i) experience in marketing and event management; (ii) proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop and Canva; and/or (iii) knowledge of publishing and editing website content.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
