Postdoctoral Fellow

[Appointment period: nine months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Understanding vulnerabilities in narrative performance in Mandarin-speaking children with developmental language disorder and exploring mechanisms underlying novel classifier learning”.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    analyse data, and coordinate with the project leader to produce high-impact research publications; 

(b)    manage research projects in the area of child language development and disorders;

(c)    assist in teaching one three-hour subject per year; and

(d)    perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have a PhD degree in Psychology, Linguistics, Cognitive Science, Early Childhood Education, Speech and Hearing Sciences, or an equivalent qualification, and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application;

(b)    excel in quantitative research methods. Applicants with skills in qualitative research methods will be a bonus; and

(c)    have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Conditions of Service
