Research Associate (Full-time/Part-time) (several posts)

Duties

The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project – “Enhancing data-privacy awareness in AIoT-related user experience design”.  They will be required to:

(a)    assist in conducting research on integrating data-privacy awareness into Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT)-related user experience (UX) design;

(b)    support the development of privacy-aware frameworks, tools and prototypes for AIoT systems;

(c)    collect, process and analyse multi-modal data related to user experience and privacy needs;

(d)    prepare research reports, presentations, and publications for journals or conferences;

(e)    provide operational support for project management, including resource coordination and progress tracking;

(f)     contribute to the identification of commercialisation opportunities for research outcomes, including market analysis and technology transfer planning;

(g)    collaborate with team members and external partners to facilitate the implementation and dissemination of research findings; and

(h)    perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)    a master’s degree in Design, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Human-Computer Interaction or related disciplines or a good honours degree in the said disciplines with three or more years of research/relevant work experience;
(b)    basic knowledge of AIoT systems, UX design and data privacy principles;

(c)    hands-on experience with data collection, processing and analysis tools;

(d)    an excellent command of both reading and written English and Chinese with fluency in Putonghua;

(e)    strong organisational skills to support research project planning and execution;

(f)     an understanding of technology transfer processes and strategies; and

(g)    the ability to assist in preparing project deliverables, reports and presentations for stakeholders.

Preference will be given to those who have proficiency in programming languages such as Python and familiarity with AI/machine learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow).

Conditions of Service

For full-time appointments, a highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. 

For part-time appointments, the remuneration rate is HK$178 per hour.
